As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
Relevance. Though "Kontrapunkte" does not consider itself to be an exclusively scientific jour-nal, it nevertheless accepts only those submissions which contribute to current issues within music education, and which have a basis in relevant academic literature. Submissions should have an obviously relevant scope of application.
Practicability. Contributions to this journal should be useful toward the development of the issue under discussion. Incidental statements of a personal nature that are irrelevant to the subject as well as the promotion of persons, groups, institutions, or products are to be avoided.
Transparency. Contributors should disclose any possible competing or personal (theoretical, business, biographical, etc.) conflicts of interest or sources of bias. Such disclosures should not be considered to create a privileged status within the discussion, but rather should be understood as a mechanism to relativize the scope of validity of the relevant statements.
Ethical Standards. Contributions should focus on the content under discussion. Offensive, racist, or sexist statements, or any other form of defamation, will not be tolerated.
Use of Pseudonyms. A worthy discussion involves clarity within productive dispute. Therefore, we request that commentators refrain from using pseudonyms and enter their full name and, if applicable, their business or private website address in the appropriate comment window.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in «Comments to the Editor»).
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements (see below).
